The tourism industry is fairly developed in the county, with Meru National park being the major tourist centre.
Tourism is anchored along six pillars namely; tourism attraction, cultural diversity and practices, investment opportunities, environmental practices.
The Meru county’s economy relies mostly on agriculture with people concentrating more on farming than herding (although this exists through Dairy Farming).
Meru county has various Annual events organised every year, this includes events such as: Ameru Festival March/April, Meru Ask Show June, Lewa Marathon July Every Year
The tourism guide endeavors to showcase Meru tourism within the tenets of the six pillars as a way of developing and promoting diverse tourism attractions.
